First Generation Rear Disc Brakes

This is an experiment in progress to see if it will work. It's probably been done many times before, but it's new to me. The donner car was an '84 Z/28 Camaro. It occured to me that the bolt pattern on the disc brake backing plate was similar to the orginal Camaro rear drum brakes. When I tried it on the old orignal 10-bolt from my Camaro, it bolted up with NO alterations at all. Now I need to turn the flanges on the axles about 1/8" to clear the rotors. It appears that will be the only machine work required. The advantage to this swap, besides price, will be that I won't need to run those silly looking huge wheels, the Z/28 originally had 15" wheels on it, and they should be a good match for the single piston full floating brakes I'm running on the front.
